Laughing Boys

Under the name Laughing Boys, he will release a series of albums titled “Phone Songs” over the next year. This collection will consist of over 100 songs captured on mobile phones and hard drives and professionally mastered.

Dikaryon

Led by Reynolds, Dikaryon involves working either solo or collaborating with other musicians to create improvised soundscapes. Dikaryon debut double album, Events, is now available on IP.

The finds inspiration from the movement of the tectonic plates and convection currents beneath the Earths crust, which cause earthquakes and volcanoes.  A natural metaphor reflecting the current state of uncertainty, instability and resulting violence in the world.

The album consists of soundscapes, improvised and recorded directly to hard drives in single sessions. Equipment used included analog electronics, a Doepfer synthesizer, guitars, and manipulated field recordings. Noise and distortions generated by the instruments have been intentionally incorporated into the aesthetics of each track capturing imperfections, along with the interplay and tensions between digital and analog technologies, revealing their capabilities, limitations, and fault lines.
